At the thought of J. Peterman, many immediately think of Seinfeld.
Elaine’s exuberant descriptions are truly what inspires me. All the time.
This actually happens to be a J. Peterman long sleeve cotton shirt in a Mens XXL. It’s a faded, or shall I say, a lived-in, shade of dusky sunset orange. It’s a heavy, thickly woven cotton, made to the highest standards of the J. Peterman catalog. It’s the best quality long-sleeve tee you’ll probably ever come by. It had an embroidered monogram at the bottom left of the front of the shirt. Crew neck, front side pocket. Please note there is a tiny hole by the back of the neck, pictured in the photos.

“In 1987, along with my partner, Don Staley, $500, a horseman’s duster, and an idea, we began an unusual adventure into direct mail. I took out a ⅙ page ad in The New Yorker and we eventually built that idea into something that I’m proud to say is still alive and kicking (thanks to you).
How did we do it? By breaking all the rules. Our “Owner’s Manual” catalogue only featured one item per page, we used paintings of items versus photography, and each item was accompanied by intensive romantic copy. These were all things the “experts” said we couldn’t do.”
